Russia Restores Access to Roblox After New Safety Compliance Measures
The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media stated that discussions had previously been held with the platform’s operators focusing on safeguarding minors while using the service. Authorities emphasized that these consultations were aimed at improving online safety standards for younger users.
As a result of these talks, Roblox introduced additional child protection tools, including systems designed to limit game access according to different age categories. The company also committed to strengthening its efforts to prevent the distribution of content deemed inappropriate within the platform.
The platform had been blocked since December 3, after regulators raised concerns about material considered unsuitable for children and potentially harmful to their moral and psychological development, as stated by Russia’s telecom watchdog Roskomnadzor.
